amofor is pleased to participate at the 8th annual SOS conference in Barcelona, taking place on May 13-14, 2024. It’s a highly interactive international conference, organized by FreeThink Technologies, Inc and Lhasa Limited.
The event focuses on the latest discoveries and innovations in stability science. It dives deep into both chemical and physical stability issues of pharmaceuticals, generics, nutraceuticals, and consumer products.
What amofor Will Bring To The Meeting
We are excited to join representatives from worldwide leading pharmaceutical companies. Recommended by one of our esteemed clients, Christian Lübbert, Ph.D., will share his insights on physical stability predictions for small molecules.
Title of his talk: Amorphous Solid Dispersions (ASD) crystallization predictions; their approach to predicting the shelf life of ASD.
You will learn:
- Strategies to harness physics-based simulations for enhancing ASD stability
- Practical examples and case studies that impact drug formulation
- New ways in which physics-based simulation can add value to formulation
Need For Advanced Simulation For ASD Stability
The increasing use of ASD makes advanced simulation tools more and more important. Historically, the pharmaceutical industry focused on the thermodynamically stable crystalline forms. The focus was on chemical stability to prevent API molecule degradation. Such degradation compromises drug safety and effectiveness during its shelf life.
However, the shift to ASDs necessitates a parallel focus on physical stability, which is just as critical as it directly influences a drug’s efficacy. Unlike chemical stability, physical stability relies on completely different mechanisms and equations. Thus, leveraging advanced models like PC-SAFT (perturbed-chain statistical associating fluid theory) along with kinetics and diffusion models become essential. These simulations can efficiently predict and manage the complex behavior of ASD formulations. They allow researchers to make informed decisions and save valuable time before engaging in costly experimental testing. Furthermore, these simulations are critical for deepening our understanding of physical stability in drug formulations.
An Invitation to Meet Up
We look forward to engaging with peers who will bring also diverse perspectives. This exchange is vital. It will expand our understanding of stability issues in drug formulations and enrich and our approach to modern drug development.
Meet us in Barcelona to advance the science of stability together!
